This Tour includes walking in Chinandega and El Viejo city centers, guests must be able to walk at least 500 meters over concrete streets, it is not recommended for guests with limited mobility due to the lack of special walking areas.
Guests with dietary concerns may wish to bring a snack, as this excursion is 4-5 hours in length.
There is a visit to the Santa Ana church, in front of the church you can purchase souvenirs at El Rincón Folclórico in Chinandega.

Your guide and driver will arrive at your hotel to take you on this exclusive adventure to discover some of the hidden secrets of Chinandega, El Viejo and El Realejo.
The tour begins with a visit to the historic village of El Realejo founded in 1532 in the first years of the Spanish colonization, the importance of El Realejo port was further diminished by the construction of Corinto port in 1858.
During a short walk in the streets of this poor town you will discover some hidden vestiges of one of the first colonial settlements in Nicaragua. You will see from the outside the ruins of San Francisco convent.
After this history lesson, you will go to Chinandega city to visit the pre-Columbian art Chorotega Nicarao museum with its extensive collection of ceramic, lithic and gold, all presented in a logical timeline.
Next you will visit a town connected to El Realejo: El Viejo. There you will have the chance to taste a local specialty: Rosquillas Viejanas (handmade rings made from crunchy cornmeal). After this snack you will visit the basilica church from the outside if doors are closed.
Then you will visit the church of the patron saint of Chinandega: Santa Ana and you will be able to buy some souvenirs and handicrafts in the shop opposite the church.
Finally, after this historic adventure you will return on time to your ship in Corinto.
